Cow is Goddess of wealth. She is Lakshmi. Her milk and other products curd,ghee,ratti are very much essential for food and rituals in ancient days and even now. So she is worshipped. Normally a brown colour cow will be selected. (karam basu). Sandal paste is applied. Kum kum applied. Karpoor haraththi shown. Banana and betal leaf given. She will be happy. Her blessings will be on the couple. If she waves her tail it is a good symbol.
